QSR Media:How did you come up with the new range?
Muffin Break:In the past couple of years consumer spending in the retail sector has shifted to the fresh, the indulgent and the authentic – Muffin Break customers want more premium products with gourmet ingredients. The increase in cooking based television shows and the rise of the Celebrity Chef has given the customer a greater awareness and desire for a wide variety of ingredients. We have also seen this trend through our customer feedback portals where customers are requesting these gourmet variants on our current muffin products.QSR Media:How are they performing?Muffin Break:It’s a little early to tell at this stage because we only launched late last month but the feedback from stores & through our customer feedback system has been very positive.QSR Media:How long will they be on the menu at Muffin Break?Muffin Break:These are a permanent product that our bakers will continue to make fresh in-store on a daily basis.QSR Media:You are co-promoting with Mars and Bounty how did this collaboration come about?Muffin Break:We wanted to partner with one of our key manufacturers to make our customers aware of the branded chocolate products that we also use as ingredients. A partnership with Mars has resulted in us collaborating on the two branded muffins – Mars and Bounty.
